according to the news on the 17th, Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, announced that after a tax investigation by the Seoul Local Tax Office, the company was levied a total of 22.635 billion Korean won, including corporate taxes. The Seoul Local Tax Office's International Trade Investigation Bureau conducted a tax investigation of Dunamu in February of this year.

The announcement stated that the tax office notified the levy on June 30, and Dunamu has also paid this tax. This 22.635 billion Korean won in back taxes accounts for approximately 23% of Dunamu's second quarter net profit (approximately 97.6 billion Korean won).

In addition, Dunamu is also involved in a lawsuit with financial regulators. The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) had previously notified Dunamu in February of a "partial business suspension for 3 months" penalty, issued a "disciplinary warning" to the company's CEO Lee Soo-yu, and dismissed 9 employees including the compliance officer.
